#TACFSFoster: America's AngelsAmerica’s Angels believes that every child deserves a safe, nurturing family. It is the goal of America’s Angels to provide quality care to children and help each child achieve their full potential within the least restrictive environment of a family setting...
America’s Angels is a child placing agency in Houston that is committed to a team approach in administrating the program as well as providing care and treatment for children. America’s Angels utilizes trained, experienced full time staff, subcontractors and consulting service providers in the community to meet the needs of each child accepted into foster care and the foster families who serve the children.
A strength based approach is used for America’s Angels treatment planning: Goals are positive and a need cannot be addressed without a corresponding strength to resolve it. Every effort is made to include families of origin in the treatment planning process. Connections and continuity are preserved for each child as much as possible, including making every effort to provide the family and child every opportunity to build upon their strengths and by working to keep sibling groups placed together in the same foster home. As an agency, America’s Angels is currently diligently working with Kinship families in efforts to commit to their mission of keeping families together. Within their Kinship programs, thanks to the Families First Act, America’s Angels is able to license relative caregivers to allow children to remain in their family of origin.
On a local level, America’s Angels participates and collaborates with other social agencies and planning groups in the community for the purpose of coordinating, planning, and expanding services concerned with strengthening family life and services for children and their families. They provide for the safety, permanency, and well-being of every foster child placed in their care. They want to ensure that their children are provided with the necessities and guidance needed to ensure that they make a smooth transition and become contributing adult citizens to their community.
America’s Angels believes that every child deserves a safe, nurturing family. It is the goal of America’s Angels to provide quality care to children and help each child achieve their full potential within the least restrictive environment of a family setting.
Through the appropriate training of our foster parents, they provide a nurturing, caring, and safe environment for the children in their care. America’s Angels develops resources to meet the challenges of children and families. America’s Angels’s staff provides the support to Foster Families through monthly home visits, training, and case management activities. In addition, America’s Angels implements conservative supervision practices in order to provide the maximum protection possible. Starting with their Board of Directors, and through all levels of operation, America’s Angels’ staff and foster parents all share the same vision – to provide safety and stability for children in need. They want their children and certified foster homes to emerge with new strength, commitment and direction. They provide for the safety, permanency, and well-being of every foster child placed in their care.
"Within the general population, there’s a misconception that foster children are all problematic and that they all suffer from some form of ailment. This isn’t true at all. Foster children, although may suffer form the trauma of their removal or the abuse they’ve been subjected to, often times through the assistance of our therapeutic services, are able to recover and move on to lead healthy normal lives. Most of the time, there is no difference in foster children that our families biological children. They are all children who require love, support, and encouragement. So I challenge families that have the space in their hearts and homes, to take a chance at fostering. On behalf of America’s Angels, I would like to encourage families that have the capacity to love, encourage and be of support to children in care to contact our offices; we are looking for families to foster our children."
