IAWA Connect: Chicago, June 25th

AAR, a global provider of aftermarket aviation services to airlines, held an event June 25th at its Chicago HQ on The Importance of Diversity & Women in Aviation hosted by its Women’s Business Resource Group –  X-Network.  The keynote speaker was Bobbi Wells, VP of Safety & Airworthiness at FedEx. Bobbi urged attendees to not be afraid to fail and to take risks so they can continue to grow and learn in their careers. Bobbi then joined a panel with Cheryle Jackson, SVP of Global Business Development, AAR and Greg Jones, Chief Diversity Officer, United where moderator Lee Ann Shay, Editor, Aviation Week/Inside MRO asked them to share ideas about how to better attract and retain women in aviation. AAR opened the event to other women in aviation in the region (at Boeing, United Airlines & Southwest Airlines) and promoted the annual IAWA conference in Memphis at the IAWA Connect Chicago reception that followed.  In her role as President-Elect of IAWA, Bobbi urged all to join IAWA to help Connect.
