On August 7th, South Africa IAWA co-hosted a Connect with the Professional Women Controllers, Inc. (PWC) under the leadership of Patti Wilson on the eve of the ICAO Global Aviation Gender Summit. Approximately 25 women from IAWA’s network and PWC’s delegation were in attendance at the Connect, plus some of the organising committee from ICAO. It was a great way to break the ice for what was an historic Summit, showcasing speakers from all over the world including Connie Avery of FedEx, Dana Salloum of Boeing (Dubai), Chloe Challinor of Stephenson Harwood (London), and Carol Anderson of Gulf Air (Bahrain). The Connect was a successful networking opportunity for all involved and was a wonderful way for IAWA to support the Summit’s mission of furthering women’s influence in aviation in the region!
